I have this same laptop and I have installed Linux Ubuntu 9.10, but I cant get any of the drivers that I need to work. My main concern is the wireless, and possibly the sound. I'm curious if anyone has had this problem with 9.10 or if I may be doing something wrong. I know that this is an old thread but I'm hoping for some help. Thanks.

you shouldn't use tap:aio for cdrom, or it will not work, use file: instead

Just for info, i finally fixed the problem.

it turned out to be my harddrive that apperently was formated an reinstalled to many times,

so via the hp bios i did a HD test which said read error, then i used via the bios the disk sanitizer which deleted my HD (like kill disk)

after that i could install Ubuntu without any probs

How do you determine the zfs-boot? I've used "rpool/ROOT" which is what shows up if I'm to boot the livecd again then import the zpool.

The traceback I get is :
